Principal Tuba (on leave)

Principal Tuba of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta Lam Wing-tsan graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong studying with Jeffrey Hoard and Lee Tsarmaklis, and then from the Royal Academy of Music in London with Patrick Harrild, where he obtained a DipRAM in Tuba Performance and LRAM in Teaching with distinction. He was the recipient of the Jardine Matheson Scholarship from the Royal Schools of Music and Bernard Van Zuiden Music Fund. Lam had appeared as soloist with the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra at the Jeju Summer Band Festival in Korea and Australia International Wind Band Festival. He was a founder, conductor and soloist of the Hong Kong Young Musicians’ Wind Orchestra, founded in 2000 with the aim to nurture young musicians. He is currently a member of the Oriental and the ZARX Brass Quintets and teaches at the Hong Kong Baptist University.
