Kim In-sun
Assistant Concertmaster
Korean violinist Kim In-sun started her music education in Korea, at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, master’s degree from New England Conservatory, and Advanced Certificate of Music Education from New York University, receiving scholarships from all schools. She studied with Masuko Ushioda, Anton Miller, Ui Myung Kim, Sung Hae Jun.
Kim is also an active chamber musician. She has worked closely with members of the Takács and Borromeo String Quartet. She has performed in Seoul, Hong Kong, Boston and New York City, including the Carnegie Hall in 2013.
In Korea, Kim In-sun was a member of Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to 2018. After her family relocated to Hong Kong, she joined Hong Kong Sinfonietta in 2018. In 2023 she was appointed Assistant Concertmaster by Music Director Christoph Poppen.
