João Miguel Moreira da Silva was the First Prize winner in the senior level of Concurso Internacional Terras de La-Salette in 2015. He was also awarded First Prize in the oboe competition of Prémio Jovens Músicos, as well as Second Prize (Chamber Music) with Quinteto Klaue, of which he became a member in 2014.

Moreira da Silva has collaborated with conductors including Délio Gonçalves, Grazia di Venere, Jean Sébastien Béreau, Jon Konjaerts, Mitchell Fennel and Rafael Agullós. In chamber music, he has worked with Anna Tommasik, Cândido Fernandes and Eli Camargo. He also had the opportunity to learn from oboists such as Alain Girard, Andrew Swinnerton, Christian Wetzel, Filipe Freitas, Francisco Luís Vieira, Isaac Duarte, Laura Marcos, Nelson Alves, Omar Zoboli, Pedro Ribeiro, Salvador Parola and Samuel Bastos in various masterclasses. Between 2011 and 2012, Moreira da Silva was a member of Symphonic Youth Orchestra conducted by Christopher Bochmann; and he established the C3PO Trio with two colleagues in 2011.

Moreira da Silva has recorded for movies and CD productions, television and radio programmes. He played along with Lisbon’s Contemporary Music Group, Camerata Musart from Lisbon’s Music College conducted by Gareguin Aroutiounian, and Tutti Ensemble Orchestra under João Ventura.

In 2014, Moreira da Silva collaborated with Orquestra XXI, and was invited to take part in the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and played solo with Braga Sinfonietta Orchestra. He also collaborated with Kölner Kammerorchester in October 2015.

In November 2015, Moreira da Silva won the audition for Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, one of the most known young orchestras in the world. He also won the audition for academist in Gürzenich Orchestra in the 2015/2016 season.
