Dear friends of Hong Kong Sinfonietta,

It is a great pleasure welcoming you to our new season which is already my third season as Music Director of this wonderful orchestra. I have very much enjoyed getting closer to you and to the orchestra, and now we are continuing to live (in) music.

Music is our life – but it is also yours. Can you imagine a day without music? Our life is limited, but the symphonies which we perform have survived hundreds of years without losing any of their beauty and energy. What do you think? Do you think music can live forever?

Anyway, it is an enormous gift to be inspired, touched, and energised by the power of music. Hong Kong Sinfonietta is proud to also be committed to creating the music of our times, and supporting the growth of local talents from a range of genres through the HKS Artist Associate scheme, joined by the multi-talented composer and performer Anna Lo this season!

We are grateful that you are sharing the adventure of crossing all these centuries and boundaries with us, with curiosity and with passion, and I am particularly happy to see so many generations in our concerts – especially because music is truly for everyone!

The new season is waiting for you with wonderful surprises as well as with music which you have loved for a long time. Bring all your friends and let us immerse ourselves in music together – and live it!
