Sylvia Tam is a percussionist of the Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble and drummer of Hong Kong Chinese drum team “Refiner Drums”. She is currently studying at Berklee Online Songwriting and Producing Music bachelor’s Degree, she was graduated from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 2018. Tam had received the Best Drummer award in the Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum competition in 2017 and 2018, Dagu Drum Solo Silver Award and Paigu Solo Brass Award in Taiwan Percussion Association Competition in 2016.
She performed in concerts and performances in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, China, etc. She participated in productions included music, dance, multi-media and arts. Including an art tech performance for NNT Arts NOVA with artist Gaybird in“Breathing… At Zero”from 2023; A theatical performance “Hidden/Manifest”by the Institute of Chinese Martial Studies; From 2020 to 2021, she performed as a Refiner Drum’s member in Hong Kong Drum Festival concerts; as a member of Lo Tung Lo Percussion Group in 2019 – Music Transcends 2.0, Hong Kong Week in Taiwan, Storm – Chau Chin-tung x HKMLCO; The 4th Maritime Silk Road International Arts Festival – “The Belt and Road Imitative” Performance Week – Dunhuang, Resonance of Silk Road Past and Present Concert in the same year; The 3rd Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo Theatrical Performance – Gaudeamus Dunhuang: the Heavenly Music of Pureland Concert in 2018; A theatrical performance “The Experimental Vaudeville”in 2016,etc.
