Lai Bo Ling
Piano
Pianist Lai Bo-ling has performed extensively in the US, UK, Europe, China, Macau and Hong Kong. In 2008, she won First Prize in the Symphony in Life and Music Competition, which took her on a concert tour with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, appearing as soloist at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. In 2010, she was invited by the orchestra to perform in the “Beautiful Sunday Concert” in the Symphony Hall of Shenzhen Concert Hall. She was named Most Distinguished Musician and received a special mention for her performance of Kabalevsky’s work at the 2012 IBLA Grand Prize International Piano Competition in Italy. In 2013, she was a prizewinner at the MTNA Competition, and received the Pi Kappa Lambda Honours.
Lai attended Diocesan Girls’ School and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she studied with Nancy Loo and Gabriel Kwok. She was awarded full scholarship to study at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where she won the Solomon Piano Award in 2013 and attained a Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Tamás Ungár. Now back in Hong Kong, she maintains a busy schedule teaching and performing.
