Joanne Li
Piano
Pianist Li Wen-juan Joanne graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Her teachers include Associate Professor Xiao Mei, Professor Dan Zhao-yi and Professor Gabriel Kwok. In 2019, she earned the Master of Music with distinction. She currently serves as a collaborative pianist at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a faculty member in piano at the University of Hong Kong.
Li has been invited to perform concertos with some of China’s leading symphony orchestras, including Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of distinguished conductors such as Zhang Guo-Yong, Zhu Qi-yuan, and others.
In addition to performance, Li is dedicated to the development and promotion of piano pedagogy. She participated in nationwide lecture tour for the newly published teaching material, New Path: The Basic Piano Course for Beginning Students, receiving widespread acclaim. She has also recorded demonstrations for Czerny Etudes and collaborating on early childhood teaching resources for the Up-Grade Piano series, published by Beijing United Publishing Company.
Li has received numerous awards in piano competitions held in Japan, Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands. Her recent involvement in Hong Kong’s music scene has been marked by a strong dedication to piano collaboration and chamber music, including performances in Hong Kong Composers’ Guild Concert, PCMF Prism Chamber Music Festival, Opus series concert and Chilled Steps at Tai Kwun.
