Alice Yeung is a Swiss-based composer-performer from Hong Kong. She works in the field of contemporary music composition, musical theatre, videography, experimental vocals, audiovisual installation and any grey areas in between. Her works reveal what is fun for her to do, and bring her whimsical mind to life.
Yeung’s music has been internationally featured in professional presentations such as the Venice Biennale, De Doelen’s Stichting Rizoom, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, New European Ensemble, Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Gaudeamus Festival, Orkest de Ereprijs, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Ictus Ensemble, Theater Münster, Muzički Biennale Zagreb, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, November Music, Klangforum Wien, HERMESensemble, Residentie Orkest, Calefax Reed Quintet, Mivos Quartet, PROJECT21st, Ligeti Quartet, International Society for Contemporary Music, Hong Kong Composers’ Guild and Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble, among others. Her work was selected as one of the recommended works in the Under-30 category of the 68th International Rostrum of Composers in Palermo, Italy, and won the New Composers Pitch Prize at the New Music Conference of November Music at ’s-Hertogenbosch in 2021.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in Composition and Electronic Music with First Class Honours in 2021, Yeung completed her master’s degree in Composition in 2023 at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague as a nominee of the Excellence Scholarship. Outside of her musical endeavours, Yeung’s short film sans-visage was screened at Concours Nicati 2025 as a finalist.
