1st Prize Winner of the 2018 Geneva International Music Competition and 2nd Prize Winner of the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition, pianist Dmitry Shishkin is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with among the young stars of today, highly acclaimed for the wit and poetry in his interpretations. Prokofiev’s brilliant Piano Concerto No 3 sets the perfect stage for Shishkin to showcase his impressive pianism in his Hong Kong début alongside Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Stanislav Kochanovsky, Chief Conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie. The programme also includes the rich Russian colours of Glinka’s beloved Russlan and Ludmilla Overture, as well as Tchaikovsky’s charismatic, folk-inspired Symphony No 2, “Little Russian”.
