Principal Viola of Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Elvis Chan graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor on full scholarship, where he obtained master’s degrees in Viola Performance and Chamber Music. As a chamber musician and a soloist, Chan has performed at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, Washington DC, and has collaborated with many eminent musicians including Andrew Jennings, Todd Phillips, Erling Bengtsson, Cathy Cho, Yizhak Schotten, Anthony Elliott, Aaron Berofsky, Lynne Aspnes, Arie Lipsky, St Petersburg String Quartet and Chester String Quartet. He has also participated in several summer festivals including the Spoleto, Carinthian Summer Music Festival, Springfest and Ann Arbor Chamber Music Festival.
