Cecilia Chan received her Master in Performance degree from the Royal College of Music, London (RCM), generously supported by the RCM Elizabeth Mary Morgan Scholarship and St Marylebone Foundation Trust, under the tutelage of Amanda Truelove. As a freelance cellist and teacher in Hong Kong, her recent performance engagements include The Nutcracker and Swan Lake with Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Hong Kong Ballet, Guest Principal Cellist with Sun Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi, Vietnam, collaborations with Hong Kong Bach Choir, Hong Kong Voices, Hong Kong Learners Chours and Hong Kong Enharmonica. Chan has worked alongside renowned conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Roger Norrington, Alexander Liebreich, Thierry Fischer, Vassily Sinaisky, John Wilson and Nicholas Collon, and has performed alongside world-class soloists such as violinists Nicola Benedetti and Lü Si-qing, and cellists Wang Jian and Pablo Ferrandez. She has performed in major concert venues around the world including the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall in London, Musikverein in Vienna, and Hanoi Opera House in Vietnam.
