An experienced orchestral musician, Ivy Chuang appears frequently with Hong Kong Philharmonic and Hong Kong Sinfonietta as freelance flute and piccolo player. She has performed with Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias and was invited to join the China tour of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011.
Devoted in teaching, Chuang currently teaches at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Education University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She also gives masterclasses in Hong Kong and China.
Chuang was awarded the Jardine Matheson Scholarship by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2000 for studying at Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she obtained the Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction in 2002.
