Born in Japan, Nikaido studied in Kagoshima Junior College (Kagoshima Internal University), Royal Academy of Music, L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Nikaido was the former Assistant Principal Flute of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and was a member of Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She has also played with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and more. Her recent performances include collaborations with Hong Kong Episodes Ensemble and Ensemble Transience. She is an artist of Parmenon Flute.
