Nick Davies

Over the past 30 years Nick Davies has been highly regarded as one of the most versatile and much sought after conductors across the full spectrum of orchestral and theatrical genres. His wide experiences and talent make a perfect combination for the variety of stylistic demands of modern day orchestral and operatic programming.

Since January 2011 Nick Davies has held the post of Chief Conductor for Vantaa Pops Orchestra in Finland. Nick is a regular guest conductor with several orchestras, notably the Norwegian Radio Orchestra with whom he has worked on a diversity of projects including tours, concerts, TV productions and a number of award-winning recordings. Together with the orchestra he also had the honour to conduct the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo from 2007 to 2017. His vast experience has increased through his extensive work as a guest conductor with numerous European orchestras, especially in Scandinavia where he nowadays resides. Work further afield includes Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Central Opera Company of Beijing. In 2009 he made his debut in Australia conducting the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has since returned to conduct the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony and Western Australia Symphony in Perth. His love of opera has been fuelled by numerous productions since 2008 at Gothenburg Opera, Sweden and he has since 2015 formed a strong association as a regular conductor on a variety of productions at Finnish National Opera and Ballet in Helsinki.
