Xu Ting
Cello

Xu Ting, winner of the 7th National Cello Competition in China in 2018, obtained her Master of Music (Distinction) and Bachelor of Music degree (First Class Honour) from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a full scholarship, under the tutelage of Professor Ray Wang.

Xu Ting appeared as soloist with the Academy Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Beijing Radio Film Symphony Orchestra and The Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra (GBAYO). Xu has been invited by the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the Music School of Shanghai University and the College of Arts at Tainan University of Technology to give solo recitals.

As a guest musician, she performed with the National Centre for Performing Arts Octet, the Miami String Quartet, members of Shanghai String Quartet and guitarist Xuefei Yang.

Xu held the Associate Principal Chair of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra (NCPAO) from 2020 to 2023.

Presently, Xu Ting serves as a faculty member at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, School of Music, and a mentor at Diocesan Boys’ School Primary Division in cello studies.
