Sunny Yeung studied under Japanese violinist Ayako Ichimaru before attending The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he obtained a Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Albert Cheng and Ivan Chan. He has received several scholarships including the Hong Kong Vienna Opera Ball Scholarship, the First Initiative Foundation/Yam Pak Charitable Foundation Scholarship, and the HSBC HKAPA Mainland China Study Program Scholarship.
Prior to joining Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Yeung worked as a freelance musician with orchestras such as the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. He served as Guest Concertmaster of the Handel Collegium Baroque Orchestra in Tokyo, and has performed in Germany, France, Poland, China, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He is a founding member of the Doyle Piano Trio and currently serves as Orchestra Associate of Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
