Acclaimed for his intelligent, elegant and compelling interpretations as well as his particular expertise in German Romantic repertoire, distinguished German pianist Martin Helmchen brings an exquisite and unmissable solo recital of Schubert sonatas and selected Novelletten by Schumann. He will also present monumental Soviet-Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina’s strikingly virtuosic Chaconne, putting the instrument’s enormous capacity for tonal and textural complexity on full display.
